MNSSHP

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, or MNSSHP, is a special event that happens annually on select nights September through October at Walt Disney World in the Magic Kingdom. The party starts at 7 and ends shortly after midnight. There is trick-or-treating, performances, character meet ups, rides, and even a parade called the Boo-to-You Parade. 

Last year, Josh and I visited the Magic Kingdom around this time. At seven, we were told to leave the park to make way for the people coming in for the party. The partygoers were all dressed up in costume and looked like they were having a ton of fun. We decided that the year after we would go to MNSSHP. 

This year was super special because Disney introduced the Sanderson Sisters from the Disney movie Hocus Pocus into the party. The Sanderson Sisters worked with the rest of the iconic Disney villains to complete their evil spell. 

We wanted to go as Peter Pan and Tiger Lily from the movie Peter Pan. We tried to make as much of our costumes as possible. My mother even sewed my costume from scratch to get all the details correct to represent Tiger Lily accurately. We got many compliments on our costumes and people instantly recognized our characters. We even had some people ask if they could take pictures with us! This was all really exciting and we can’t wait to do this again next year. We saw some awesome and well done costumes that has given us inspiration for next year.
