Hi everyone! I have big news for you.
So for the past month, I have been working hard at building a new site for my blog. The new site comes with a re-brand of the blog! So that unfortunately means that Chronicles of a Fashion Mad Diva has sadly come to an end. I feel like as I have changed and grown up, my blog has stayed the same. That is what prompted the change as well as me wanting to take blogging and my personal brand to a new level. Not to worry though! I think that you all will love the new look and freshness of my new blog called Eloquently Alana.
One thing that I spent a lot of time doing was making sure I took over the old blog posts and relocating them on the new site. That means you can go back through the posts like normal. have created some new sections on the site including an interactive photo page that takes you to my Instagram, an about me page, and a contact me page. Over time you will continue to see changes as I grow my blog to include some new elements. Also, please let me know if there is anything you wish to see on the new site!
To get to my new site just go to http://alanalong.com/. I hope to see you all there!
Thank you!

Beyoncé's a Bollywood Beautie in Coldplay's New Music Video
If you didn't know yet, Beyoncé and Coldplay have teamed up to make a song called "Hymn for the Weekend”. The new song should be what they will be performing at the Super Bowl this weekend. The video was shot in India and was very colorful and vibrant. I loved how they depicted India and its culture. Everything was so lively and vivid. Needless to say, Beyoncé looked fabulous. Here are some photos of her beautiful attire!
Look at that henna! Her headpiece is also stunning here.
Her gaze is fierce to say the least. She is also taking the flower crown to a whole new level.
Yes, yes that is a cape. I wish I had a cape...

My Freezing Disney Weekend
Me casually accepting my role as resident princess in Germany
I had the greatest weekend at Disney! For starters, I got
this fantastic deal on the Swan & Dolphin Hotel for one night so I jumped
on the opportunity. The Dolphin hotel is massive and pretty impressive when you
drive up to it. The fountain is gorgeous and the hotel conveniently has many
restaurants to choose from. I think one of the things we were most impressed
with was the quick access to the parks. All we had to do was hop on one of
their boats that made trips to the parks! We loved not having to worry about
driving and parking at the parks.
So I totally packed and planned for a stylish weekend at
Disney, however the weather turned on me and both days we were there it was in
the 30’s and 40’s. Needless to say, my stylish weekend was promptly canceled. I
bundled up in heavy coats and scarves both days. It wouldn’t have even mattered
if I was wearing a Disney shirt because no one would see it anyways under my
coat! I just had to accept that this weekend had to be more about the
functionality of the clothes rather than the style. Phew! What a hard pill to
swallow, right?
Us reacting to how cold it was outside and simultaneously showing off the Tower of Terror
Anyways, besides the freezing temperatures and freezing
winds, I had just the best time with Joshua and I can’t wait to go back.

My Winter OOTD
It is getting quite chilly here in South Florida, believe it or not. As sad as I am to be cold all the time, this weather does give me the chance to break out my winter clothes!
I am in L-O-V-E with this sweater top I got from Wanelo's Arrow Brand. It is pretty thick so it is warm and cozy, especially when I layer a black long sleeve underneath. But let's be real, the real reason why I bought this top was for the copious amounts of lace. There is a lace insert on the sleeves plus a ruffled lace asymmetrical bottom. I love how feminine and delicate this top is.
The lace sticks out from underneath the bottom of my coat when I wear it which looks adorable. My brown combat boots were a nice rugged contrast to the soft looking top. I also paired this with a simple black scarf because there was enough detail in the rest of the outfit. I loved this look, you could say I was #feelingmyself because I took a million pictures that day.

New Year, Same Me
2016 came rolling in without mercy. I realized that time
didn’t magically stop and wait for me to get me crap together during the break before
the New Year started. There were quite a few things that I wanted to accomplish
before 2016 that never got done. That being said, I am still the same me. However,
hopefully 2016 will be a year of growing and learning. I will (fingers
crossed!) get my degree this year, apply for grad school, and take my personal
blog/brand to the next level.
Right now I am in the middle of a building website for myself
which will feature a résumé, some blog posts, and a portfolio. I am so excited to launch it but it still
needs a lot more work to get it ready. This was something I had planned to do
before 2016. I also wanted to get separate social media accounts for the blog
on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest. With work and school it is
sometimes hard to find time to dedicate towards working on the blog and my
website.
I will get many things done this year (hopefully in a timelier
manner!) and I will continue to grow this blog for everyone involved. Thank you
for all your support and for taking the time out to read my posts! I really
appreciate all of my readers. I hope 2016 goes brilliantly for all of you!
Until next time,

St. Petersburg Tour Guide
Josh and I were in charge of showing some out of state
friends around our wonderful city, so we started off our tour with going to the
market. This is because one of my favorite things to do is go to the farmers
market here downtown. It seems as if everyone in the area shows up every sunny
Saturday morning to hang out. I love watching people run into old friends and
have a great time in the community. One of my favorite things about the market
is that most people bring their dogs! So fluffy! I always have a great time
just people watching and buying all the local foods and crafts.
When you are showing someone around your city you see it
through new eyes. St. Petersburg is a beautiful place to live and has many
sites to see. People can’t believe that we live in paradise that they call
vacation. Finally, we finished our tour with a lunch at Red Mesa Cantina. We had
two vegetarians in the group and so Mexican was a perfect fit for everyone. We talked,
laughed, and bonded over good food. Needless to say, my Saturday was exciting
and fun.
I had a wonderful time wandering around our quaint city with
great company. Don’t take where you live for granted. Next time you get the
chance, walk around your city like a tourist.
